Presentation: | EEG current source estimation based on a dynamical model of layer V tufted pyramidal cells |
Abstract: |
In this work, I will discuss spatio-temporal filtering using a biophysical model of the cerebral cortex. I will discuss in details: - The model - The collocation method utilized - The generalized SSM - The novel filter We will apply this methodology to EEG data recorded from Whistar rats |

Presentation: | Causality at first sight: a quick look at the gaze data. |
Abstract: |
Set two people face to face, eye to eye. Ask them to move their eyes at random. Record them with an Eye Tracker. Bring me your data. I will show you that there is causality. "But How?" This is my topic. Attend my presentation!! |

Presentation: | Causality 101 - An Introduction to Causality Theory in Statistical Time Series Modelling |
Abstract: | Causality Theory in Statistical Time Series Modelling can be classified into (1) Model Identification Approach (e.g. Granger Causality) and (2) Parametric Spectral Decomposition Approach (e.g. Akaike Causality). The talk will start with the mathematics of each approach and continue with the problem when applying in various situation. Examples from simulations and real data will be given. Extension of causality theory to other temporal data will be discussed. |

I need a 'human taxi' (like the one in the 'Transportation' page) lifting me from the 5th station to the top of Fuji Mountain. |
**This taxi service will be free from Gotemba station to the International Center. To change the itinerary you will be charged with the corresponding amount. Let's talk.
LADIES AND GENTLEMEN: Featuring our youngest and brightest sensei. He has Contributed to our seminars with a very high Rate of Noise. We all love his company. I will show you later why.

Presentation: | Pair-wise Causality & Total Causality for Multi-variate Time Series |
Abstract: | An idea of expressing Geweke's criterion ( for the pair-wise causality) in terms of Akaike's Noise Contribution Ratio will be presented. It naturally leads us, from the concept of "Pair-wise Causality", to the concept of "Total Causality" for feedback systems. |

Presentation: | ARMA spectral estimation |
Abstract: | ARMA coefficient is usually estimated based on time series. I would like to propose the method to estimate ARMA coefficient based on autocorrelation in frequency domain. |
